Hi everyone! It's Lauren again, from A Teachable Teacher!
With just two more days left until winter break, I hope I am not the only one scrambling to get stuff done! Holiday celebrations, and crafts, and gifts, oh my! Toss in a few district assessments, holiday plays, and spending time with your own kids and family and this time of year is absolutely teacher CRAZY!In case I'm not the only procrastinating teacher in the world, I wanted to share a quick and easy holiday gift for parent volunteers or classroom helpers. With one trip to Target or Dollar Tree and a few minutes at home to prep, your volunteer gifts with be done and ready to go!
While at the store, pick up the following items:
- Hand sanitizer, hand lotion, or hand soap (1 per volunteer)
- Treat bags
- Ribbon and/or tulle
Money-Saving Tip: I have a love/hate relationship with Bath & Body Works. I love it because of the many amazing scents and coupons I can use, but I hate it because I spend way too much time (and money) in there. That being said, they are ALWAYS running some sort of promotion and usually have a coupon you can use on top of that. Whenever they have their hand soaps on sale, I stock up! If I am able to get a good deal on the mini hand-sanitizer, I stock up on those and include multiple in a treat bag. If you don't have any on hand, just pick up some sweet-scented soap or sanitizer from Target or Dollar Tree.
When you get home, download my FREE gift tags. If you want to print it out and sign your name, click here. If you want to type your name and then print it out, click here.
Note: The editable version is a PowerPoint file. The images are locked per artists' terms of use. I used the free font KG Eyes Wide Open.
Place the hand sanitizers or hand soap in the gift bag. Punch a hole in the gift tag and run some ribbon or tulle through it. Tie it together at the top and voila, you are done! Personalize it by adding a note on the back with a sharpie.

I wish you a very Merry Christmas! Put away the lesson plans and grading and enjoy your loved ones!
Until next year,
